City Venue Management
Upper Mount Gravatt
Lead. Inspire. Grow. Own It.
Two exciting opportunities. Two great facilities. One opportunity to make your mark.
Ready to take the lead and make your mark?
At City Venue Management (CVM), we're passionate about creating places where people feel welcome, motivated and inspired to be their best. We're not just about operating facilities – we're about building thriving communities, developing excellent people and delivering experiences that keep members coming back.
We're looking for two energetic, commercially minded Health Club Managers to join our team, with one position available at each of the following locations:
- Parkinson Aquatic Centre & Health Club
- Hibiscus Aquatic & Leisure Centre
These are genuine leadership opportunities for people who want to take ownership, make an impact and build something great. You'll have the opportunity to shape your club's culture, grow membership, build a high-performing team and turn great ideas into real results.
With the autonomy to lead, the opportunity to make a tangible impact and the support of a dynamic organisation that's continuing to grow, this is your chance to take the reins and make your club your own.
Why You'll Love This Role
- Make It Yours: Take ownership of club performance, member experience and team culture, with the opportunity to shape your club's future.
- Drive Real Results: Turn your commercial instincts into action by growing membership, improving retention and achieving meaningful performance outcomes.
- Lead from the Front: Be a visible, hands-on leader who coaches, motivates and inspires both your team and your members.
- Build Something Great: Develop a positive, energetic club environment where your team thrives and members feel part of something special.
- Grow Your Career: Join a growing organisation that values initiative, backs its people and offers opportunities to progress.
What You'll Be Doing
No two weeks will look the same. You'll balance strategic thinking and commercial performance with the hands-on leadership that makes a great health club tick.
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading and developing your team – building capability, confidence, accountability and a culture of high performance.
- Growing the business – driving membership acquisition, engagement and retention while delivering against sales targets and KPIs.
- Creating an outstanding member experience – building genuine relationships, fostering community and ensuring members love being part of the club.
- Owning daily operations – overseeing rostering, service standards, reporting and the smooth running of the facility.
- Leading from the floor – staying connected to members and staff, providing coaching and support, and setting the standard through your own actions.
- Getting involved – delivering up to eight group fitness classes per week and undertaking Duty Manager shifts as part of the broader leadership team.
What We're Looking For
We want someone who brings energy, initiative and a genuine desire to make a difference.
You'll be a excellent fit if you:
- Have experience in fitness, health club or leisure management, with the ability to lead people and deliver results.
- Know how to build, motivate and develop a team that takes pride in what it does.
- Are commercially switched on, confident working with KPIs and sales targets, and motivated by growing a business.
- Build strong relationships naturally and understand what makes members feel valued and connected.
- Lead by example, enjoy being hands-on and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves.
- Bring a positive, proactive attitude and the drive to continually improve the club, the team and the member experience.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Certificate III and IV in Fitness.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Blue Card, or willingness to obtain.
- Lifeguard qualification, or willingness to obtain.
What's In It for You?
At CVM, we believe great people deserve great opportunities.
You'll enjoy:
- A competitive base salary, plus attractive commission opportunities.
- Full access to CVM facilities and Fitness Passport.
- A supportive, energetic team setting where collaboration and initiative are encouraged.
- The opportunity to make a genuine impact and take ownership of your club's success.
- Career development and progression opportunities within a growing organisation.

Ready to Make Your Mark?
With two positions available across Parkinson Aquatic Centre & Health Club and Hibiscus Aquatic & Leisure Centre, there's an exciting opportunity to find your next leadership role with CVM.
If you're passionate about fitness, love developing people and have the commercial drive to build a thriving health club, we'd love to hear from you!
