Job Summary

Cipher Solutions is seeking a reliable, experienced and safety-conscious Industrial / Plant Cleaner to join our team at a Sydney Water facility.

The role involves industrial cleaning and general facility maintenance within an operational water treatment plant, including industrial sweeping, pressure cleaning, plant and equipment cleaning, floor scrubbing and general site cleaning.

We are looking for someone with previous industrial cleaning experience who is physically fit, proactive and capable of working safely in a highly regulated industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Industrial cleaning of plant areas, operational facilities and designated equipment.
- Sweeping and scrubbing of industrial floors, workshops, walkways and plant areas.
- Pressure cleaning of designated hard surfaces, plant areas and external facilities.
- Removing dust, dirt, debris and general industrial residue.
- Cleaning plant rooms, equipment exteriors, storage areas and operational spaces as authorised.
- Operating industrial cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, sweepers and pressure washers.
- General cleaning of offices, amenities, toilets, kitchens and common areas.
- Waste collection and disposal in accordance with site procedures.
- Following site-specific cleaning schedules, SWMS and safe work procedures.
- Using cleaning chemicals, equipment and PPE safely.
- Completing daily cleaning checklists and site documentation.




- Reporting hazards, incidents, equipment faults and maintenance issues.
- Complying with all Sydney Water site safety, environmental and operational requirements.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must have:

- Valid White Card – Mandatory
- Valid Australian Driver Licence – Mandatory
- Current National Police Check – Mandatory
- Previous industrial, plant or commercial cleaning experience.
- Experience operating commercial or industrial cleaning equipment.
- Understanding of WHS requirements, SWMS and safe chemical handling.
- Ability to complete required Sydney Water site inductions and safety training.
- Physical fitness and ability to undertake manual cleaning tasks.
- Robust attention to detail and good communication skills.
- Reliable transport and punctual attendance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Experience

- Previous cleaning experience at water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities or industrial sites.
- Experience operating industrial floor sweepers, scrubbers and pressure cleaning equipment.
- Familiarity with working around operational machinery and industrial infrastructure.




- Understanding of industrial site hazards, environmental controls and safety procedures.
- Previous experience working on Sydney Water or similar utility sites.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

- Approximately 38–40 hours per week, subject to roster and meal breaks.
- Additional hours may be available depending on operational requirements.

About the Role

This is a hands-on industrial cleaning position at an operational Sydney Water facility.

The successful candidate must be reliable, physically capable, safety-focused and committed to maintaining high cleaning standards.

All cleaning activities must be performed in accordance with approved site procedures, and no work is to be undertaken on operational equipment or within restricted areas without appropriate authorisation.
