Garbutt
A calm voice, a carefully checked name and a clear update can make a difficult day a little easier for a grieving family.
At Pure Souls, we help Townsville families farewell their pets with care and dignity through water cremation and personalised aftercare. We're looking for a Client Care & Pet Care Specialist who brings warmth to every conversation and care to every detail.
About the role
- Casual, approx. 15 to 25 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, days and shift times to be discussed
- From $33.71 per hour (includes 25% casual loading) plus super. Your rate depends on your relevant experience, including office and aftercare work.
- Opportunity to move into permanent part time employment after a successful first 3 months
What you'll do
- Answer phone, email and online enquiries with patience and clear information
- Explain our services, standard prices and next steps without pressuring families
- Create bookings and check names, contact details, service choices and records
- Process routine payments and prepare client updates and documents
- Coordinate appointments for families receiving their pet's remains, following the approved schedule
- Prepare pets with care and dignity for family viewings, following our procedures (full training provided)
- Liaise with veterinary clinics and our team about case progress, and keep reception welcoming
- Refer refunds, pricing exceptions, complex complaints and schedule changes to a manager
You'll work in the office at our aquacremation facility. The role focuses on client care and administration. It does not include driving or operating cremation equipment.
What will help you succeed
- Compassion is a must.
You'll speak with families on one of their hardest days, so kindness, patience and a calm manner need to be in your toolbox.
- Experience in reception, administration or customer service, with examples of accurate work
- Clear spoken and written communication, and confidence with computers
- The ability to listen to someone who is upset, explain the next step and know when to ask for support
- Reliability, discretion and a consistent approach to procedures and feedback
Veterinary, medical reception, funeral or community service experience is welcome. Previous pet aftercare experience is not essential. The role involves regular conversations about pet loss and grief, and caring for pets after they have passed.
Training and support
You'll receive structured onboarding, clear procedures and supervised practice before handling client contact on your own, with guidance from our small team.
