At Assigned Guardian Angels, we're looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and experienced Disability Support Worker to support a male participant in Coolaroo, VIC.

We're not just looking for someone to assist with daily care — we're looking for someone who can bring positive energy, great conversation and fresh ideas to the participant's day!

About the Role

Our participant would benefit from someone who is confident, engaging and proactive. You'll be supporting him both at home and out in the community, while building a positive and respectful relationship with him and his wife.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Personal Care: Assisting with showering, grooming and daily personal care routines.
- Manual Handling: Confidently assisting with transfers and supporting secure wheelchair use.
- Community Outings: Planning and suggesting enjoyable activities, outings and opportunities to get out and about.
- Social Interaction: Bringing great conversation, companionship and a positive attitude to each shift.
- Family Engagement: Building a friendly and respectful relationship with both the participant and his wife.
- Encouraging Independence: Helping the participant stay involved, engaged and as independent as possible.
- Daily Living Support: Providing practical assistance to make everyday routines easier and more enjoyable.

Who Would Be a Great Fit?

We're looking for someone who:

- Is friendly, outgoing, confident and easy to talk to.




- Has strong communication skills and enjoys interacting with participants and their families.
- Is proactive and can suggest fun, meaningful activities rather than waiting to be asked.
- Has experience with manual handling, wheelchair assistance and Sara Stedy transfers.
- Is comfortable and experienced in providing personal care to male participants.
- Is patient, respectful and understands the importance of dignity and choice.
- Is reliable, punctual and genuinely enjoys disability support work.

Most importantly, we want someone who can build a genuine connection with our participant and make each shift a positive experience!

Shift Details

- Location: Coolaroo, VIC
- Day: Every Tuesday
- Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Additional shifts: Potential opportunities available in the future

Requirements

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Experience in disability support and personal care
- Demonstrated manual handling experience, including Sara Stedy transfers
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates (preferred)
- Driver's licence and reliable vehicle (preferred)
