About Kanélla
Kanélla is a Melbourne-based cinnamon scroll bakehouse specialising in freshly made cinnamon scrolls, unique flavours and delicious sweet and savoury baked treats.
We're growing our production team and looking for reliable, hardworking people to join our bakery kitchen in Lalor over the busy Christmas period.
Both positions are initially Christmas casual, with the potential for ongoing permanent employment for the right candidates.We currently have two positions available:
POSITION 1 – Cinnamon Scroll RollersBakery Production Assistant
We're looking for team members to assist with the preparation and production of our signature cinnamon scrolls.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and handling dough.
- Rolling out dough to the required sizes and thickness.
- Spreading cinnamon fillings and other ingredients.
- Rolling, shaping and cutting cinnamon scrolls.
- Ensuring scrolls are consistent in size and presentation.
- Preparing scrolls for proofing and baking.
- Assisting with daily production requirements.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area.
Ideal candidate:
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Good attention to detail.
- Comfortable with repetitive, hands-on work.
- Able to work in a fast-paced bakery environment.
- Previous bakery or food production experience is an advantage but not essential.
- Training can be provided to the right person.
POSITION 2 – Evening Bakers Bakery Production / Baking Team
We're looking for experienced and capable bakers to join our evening production team. This position involves preparing,
baking and finishing our cinnamon scrolls and other bakery products to ensure everything is freshly prepared and ready for the following day's trading.
Responsibilities include:
- Baking cinnamon scrolls and other bakery products.
- Operating commercial bakery ovens.
- Monitoring proofing times, baking temperatures and product quality.
- Preparing toppings, fillings and ingredients.
- Following recipes and production specifications.
- Ensuring consistent baking results and presentation.
- Preparing products for the following day's orders and deliveries.
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
- Cleaning and maintaining bakery equipment and work areas.
Ideal candidate:
- Previous commercial baking experience preferred.
- Confident using commercial ovens and bakery equipment.
- Understanding of dough, proofing and baking processes.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Able to work independently and meet production deadlines.
- Reliable and comfortable working evening shifts.

Location & Hours
Lalor, VIC - Evening availability is required for the baking position. Shift times and availability will be discussed with successful applicants.
