Operations Manager
Elevated Work Services Pty Ltd
Kalgoorlie, Goldfields & Esperance WA
Management (Construction) | Full time
Applications close Monday 16th November 2026
About Us
At Elevated Work Services (EWS), we specialise in the maintenance and construction of low voltage and high voltage powerlines, as well as comprehensive vegetation-management services across the Goldfields, Pilbara and Wheatbelt regions of Western Australia. We have operated since 2014 as EWS and HOWE Electrics before that from our base in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, committed to delivering exceptional service, professionalism and the highest standards of safety to all our clients.
As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to join our leadership team. We want someone who can work with customers, manage crews and help drive our field operations to the next level.
Position Overview
The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day field operations of EWS, from quoting a job through to final close-out. You will work directly with our customers and manage crews in the field to deliver projects safely, on time and to the highest quality standards. The role covers client liaison, scoping and pricing work, coordinating teams, tracking progress and managing resources. It also includes making sure all project documentation is completed and submitted accurately so jobs can be closed and invoiced promptly. Throughout, you will help foster a positive, safety-first culture across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management
- Serve as the point of contact for clients. Build and maintain strong relationships, understand their requirements and ensure exceptional service delivery.
Quoting & Estimating
- Scope current work through site inspections, client briefs and review of drawings and specifications.
- Prepare accurate, competitive quotes and estimates covering labour, plant, materials, subcontractors, travel and accommodation.
- Prepare and submit tender and pricing responses in line with client requirements and deadlines.
- Manage variations:
identify out-of-scope work early, then price, document and get client approval before work proceeds.
- Review completed jobs against quoted costs to refine future pricing and protect margins.
Operations & Crew Management
- Plan, schedule and manage crew resources (field technicians, rigging teams, lines-maintenance and construction crews).
- Supervise operations across LV and HV powerline works, vegetation management, construction and maintenance activities.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, KPIs and reporting. Identify and resolve operational issues proactively.
- Support recruitment, training and mentoring of field crews and subcontractors.
Close-Out Documentation
- Make sure all job close-out documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time. This includes as-constructed/as-built records, test results, ITPs, completed job packs, photos, timesheets and compliance certificates.
- Check crew paperwork for completeness and quality before it is submitted to the client.
- Submit close-out packages through client portals and systems in line with contract requirements.
- Track outstanding documentation so completed work can be closed and invoiced without delay.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure all work meets or exceeds safety, quality and compliance standards.
- Promote and embed a safety-first culture, ensuring all team members follow company safety systems and regulations.
- Work cross-functionally with management to refine processes, improve efficiency and drive business growth.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for a candidate with a strong field-operations background in electrical/lines work,
ideally with a blend of technical experience and management capability. Specifically:
- Demonstrated experience in LV/HV overhead powerline maintenance or construction.
- Proven ability to lead field crews, manage operations and engage with clients.
- Experience preparing quotes, estimates or tender submissions for field-based works.
- A strong eye for detail with documentation. Experience compiling and submitting close-out packages to network operators or utility clients is highly regarded.
- Strong safety mindset, with knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety systems in the electrical/utility sector.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, and comfortable liaising with clients, crews and senior management.
- Willingness to travel within regional WA (Goldfields, Pilbara, Wheatbelt) and work in a dynamic, remote-field environment.
- Strong organisational skills, problem-solving ability and a hands-on attitude.
- Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and job management or client portal systems.
What We Offer
- A senior leadership role within a growing, respected power-utilities services company.
- The opportunity to lead high-impact projects in challenging and rewarding regional environments.
- A competitive salary package based on experience.
- A culture focused on safety, excellence and teamwork.
- A supportive team environment, and a chance to shape the future of the business.
