ABOUT THE ROLE
Location: Epping
The purpose of the Quality & Safety Assistant Manager is to support the Operations Manager in driving the operational and strategic goals through maintaining effective QA practices as well as identifying and providing corrective actions as required.
The purpose of this role is also responsible for driving commitment to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment in all activities for workers, contractors, suppliers, and all other persons working in or visiting our places of work.
ABOUT YOU
Strong knowledge of the workplace, health and safety legislation, with the ability to interpret relevant legislationExperience in conducting operational risk assessmentsExperience in managing workers compensation claims, injury management and return to work programsExperience in partnering with operational Leaders to drive and maintain a strong safety cultureStrong understanding and implementation of safety procedures product safety, quality and legality issues
YOUR RESPONSILBITIES
Quality
Ensure Epping complies with the legislative and operational requirements of the relevant Federal, State and Local Government Acts and requirements regarding Food Safety including liaising,



and co-operating with the various associated agenciesEnsure that statutory checks and audits are undertaken in accordance with internal and external regulatory compliance requirements, including undertaking periodic quality system audits and leading management reviews of the quality system, measuring program effectiveness, identifying corrective actions and ensuring their implementationProvide advice and input into appropriate quality control techniques, processes and practicesConduct investigations into quality issues as they arise, identifying corrective action to minimise impactDetermine compliance breachesIdentifying when escalation or external notification process must be followed
Safety
Build robust internal relationships to actively reinforce and promote best practice in safetyMonitor, evaluate and recommend improvements to the safety systemMonitor all incidents raised in the safety reporting system and provide coaching and support where required to improve safety functioning skills in raising incident reportsEncourage the prompt reporting of incidents and hazardsWork with the site to ensure that corrective actions are closed out in a timely mannerMonitor compliance with workplace policies and procedures through conducting formal and informal internal audits,



including audits of external contractorsDevelop and document procedures, safe work method statements and job safety analysis
TO BE SUCCESSFUL
You will bring with you:
5 years' plus experience in a similar roleQualifications in QA/Safety or related disciplinesAccredited in workplace training qualifications is desirableStrong knowledge of the workplace, health and safety legislation, with the ability to interpret relevant legislationExperience in conducting operational risk assessmentsExperience in managing workers compensation claims, injury management and return to work programsExperience in partnering with operational Leaders to drive and maintain a solid safety culture
