Consultant General Surgeon | Regional Referral Hospital | Victoria
We are working closely with a well-established regional hospital in Victoria and are keen to connect with FRACS-qualified General Surgeons interested in full-time opportunities within a secure and supportive surgical service.
The department provides a broad mix of elective and emergency general surgery across a significant regional catchment. Consultants practise with genuine clinical autonomy while working within a structured multidisciplinary team.
This role will appeal to Surgeons seeking operative variety, continuity of care and long-term regional stability.
The Hospital & Surgical Services
This is a substantial regional hospital providing acute medical and surgical services to a large rural and cross-border population.
Surgical services include:
Broad general surgery (elective and emergency)
Acute surgical admissions
Endoscopy services
Integration with Anaesthetics and ICU
Established theatre facilities
Multidisciplinary peri-operative support




The hospital functions as the primary acute referral centre for the region.

Requirements
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS - General Surgery)
Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
International Medical Graduates assessed by RACS as partially or substantially comparable
