About the Position
Located in the eastern region, Monash is a cosmopolitan and culturally diverse city, close to the demographic centre of Melbourne. The Bushland & Wetlands Team manage a broad range of significant bushland, wetlands and waterways of high biodiversity value which provide key natural places for our community to connect to nature, explore and enjoy.
Tasks
Revegetation and indigenous garden bed maintenance
Riparian and wetland maintenance
Remnant maintenance
Indigenous planting and seedbank programs
Fuel reduction in accordance with relevant fire preparedness programs
Monitoring, protecting, and enhancing flora and fauna values
Skills and Experience
Experienced in the use of bushland maintenance techniques & equipment
Enjoy being empowered to contribute to, co-develop, and implement reserve management and operational works programs
A motivated, team player who is responsible for achieving high-quality outcomes, through self-management and working as part of a large team
Willingly engage in community events and education such as the supervising "Friends of " groups activities and community plantings on some weekends
Requirements




Relevant industry tertiary qualification such as Diploma in Natural Resource Management or equivalent demonstrated experience
Current Victorian Drivers License
ACUP or Farm Chemicals Users Certificate
Pre-employment Medical Assessment
Employee Working with Children's Check
Satisfactory National Police Check
Valid
Right to Work in Australia
