With a strong focus on delivering positive outcomes for the community, the organisation operates in a regulated and compliance-focused environment and is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to strengthen its finance function.
Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of a broad range of financial accounting, statutory compliance and reporting responsibilities.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical accounting capability, attention to detail and the ability to maintain high-quality financial records across a multi-entity environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing month-end and year-end accounting activities, including complex journals, accruals, provisions, prepayments, payroll-related entries and intercompany transactions
Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong balance sheet integrity
Preparing monthly management reporting across profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow
Providing variance analysis and commentary against budgets, forecasts and prior periods
Supporting BAS, GST, FBT and other statutory reporting and compliance requirements
Preparing audit-ready working papers and supporting external audit processes
Assisting with statutory financial statements and regulatory reporting
Identifying control gaps, accounting risks and opportunities to strengthen financial governance




Supporting systems improvement, automation and enhanced finance processes
Partnering with finance, payroll, operations and senior stakeholders to provide clear financial guidance
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will be a technically strong accountant who is comfortable operating in a regulated, audit-focused environment.
You will ideally bring:
CA or CPA qualification
A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
Experience with grants and funding arrangements
Strong exposure to statutory compliance, including BAS, GST and FBT
Advanced Excel capability
Experience using Xero
Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
The ability to communicate technical financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
