An established and reputable Brisbane law firm legal practice is looking for an Accounts Officer to join its team full-time. If you're the person who spots the discrepancy everyone else missed, loves a well-organised spreadsheet and takes pride in getting the details right, this could be your kind of role.
Your numbers game
Working alongside and closely with the Operations & Finance Manager, you'll help keep the firm's financial operations running smoothly, with responsibilities spanning:
Monthly client billing cycle, invoicing and WIP management
Accounts payable, receivable and debtor follow-up
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Receipts, payments and trust accounting support
Month-end reporting and Excel-based financial analysis
Ad hoc financial analysis and advice to support business decisions
Occasionally stepping in to assist with payroll
Resolving discrepancies and finding smarter ways to work
What makes you the right fit?
At least two (2) years of experience across billing and general accounts, within the legal industry (experience from other skilled services environments will be considered)
Solid Excel skills and confidence navigating financial systems
An eagle eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy
The initiative to take ownership, meet deadlines and follow things through
A friendly, approachable personality and the confidence to chase answers when needed
