Mechanical Engineer – HVAC Design

Position Overview - We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support commercial building HVAC design and construction projects. This role will focus on HVAC system design, load calculations, equipment selection, and building system coordination across a variety of commercial projects.

Responsibilities
Perform heating and cooling load calculations for commercial buildings.
Design HVAC systems, including ductwork and piping layouts.
Size HVAC equipment and select components, including DX and chilled water systems, pumps, and cooling towers.
Support HVAC design and construction activities from planning through project completion.
Use Revit and AutoCAD to develop and coordinate building system designs.
Collaborate with project teams and communicate effectively with colleagues and other project stakeholders.

Requirements




Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
2–5 years of experience in commercial building mechanical/HVAC design.
Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
Understanding of HVAC load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection.
Robust written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented team workplace.
Ability to pass required background checks, including the Jessica Lunsford Act screening for school projects and FBI background checks for government building projects.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with both DX and chilled water HVAC systems.
Familiarity with commercial building design and construction processes.
