THE OPPORTUNITY
Brisbane is one of the busiest design markets in the country right now. With the 2032 Olympics on the horizon and continued investment in hospitality and residential projects, there’s no shortage of work. The real question for designers is where to do it.
We’re working with a national design practice to find a mid-level Interior Designer for their Brisbane studio. It’s a genuine all-rounder role, with involvement across the full project life cycle on hotel, hospitality and luxury residential work.
WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON
Hotel and hospitality projects, from concept through to documentation and delivery
Luxury residential interiors where detail and finish quality really matter
Design development, FF&E; selection and material specifications
Revit documentation and coordination with architects, consultants and contractors
Working closely with senior designers and having regular contact with clients
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
At least 4 years’ interior design experience in the Australian market
A portfolio that includes hotel, hospitality and luxury residential projects
Solid Revit skills (this studio documents in Revit, so it’s essential)
An all-round skill set,
comfortable moving between design thinking and technical documentation
Good communication skills and the confidence to work directly with clients and consultants
A relevant degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
WHAT’S ON OFFER
$90,000 to $110,000 + super, depending on experience
The stability and project pipeline of a national practice
A explicit career pathway, with genuine scope to step up as your experience grows
Well-established internal processes, so projects run smoothly and you can focus on the design
Hospitality and residential projects with real design ambition
WHY CONSIDER THIS ROLE?
When a market is this busy, plenty of studios are stretched. Projects get rushed, processes slip and development takes a back seat. This practice is different.
Their internal processes are excellent, which means transparent briefs, organised documentation and fewer late-night fire drills before a deadline. Designers here spend their time designing.
There’s also somewhere to go. The practice actively develops its people, and for a mid-level designer looking for a path towards senior roles, that matters as much as the projects themselves.
