Business Development Manager - Cladding & Building Products
MJM Recruit has partnered with a respected national supplier of building products and construction solutions, offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Regional Business Development Manager specialising in cladding.
We are looking for a genuine sales hunter who knows the cladding market, understands the products and has the confidence, industry knowledge and commercial drive to turn opportunities into sales.
Based from the Somerton branch, you will play a pivotal role in growing cladding sales across Victoria, with a particular focus on driving business into Somerton, the company's flagship branch.
While cladding will be your specialty, you will also have the advantage of an extensive building products portfolio, creating opportunities to cross-sell, deliver complete solutions and maximise sales across multiple product categories.
This is not a role for someone who simply maintains existing accounts.
We want someone who thrives on opening doors, developing relationships, identifying projects and winning business!
About This Opportunity
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will take ownership of regional business development, working across the Victorian branch network to generate opportunities, strengthen customer relationships and increase sales.
You will engage with builders, contractors, developers and construction professionals, understanding their project requirements and recommending the right cladding and complementary building product solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively identify, pursue and secure new cladding business across Victoria
Drive sales growth through Somerton and the wider Victorian branch network
Identify cross-selling opportunities across timber, flooring, formwork, structural products, frames and trusses and other building products




Build relationships with builders, contractors, developers and industry stakeholders
Identify upcoming construction projects and engage decision-makers early
Provide knowledgeable, solutions-focused advice on cladding products and applications
Develop new accounts while maximising opportunities within existing customers
Manage quotations, pricing, negotiations and sales opportunities
Maintain a strong sales pipeline, CRM activity and accurate forecasting
Collaborate with branch teams to convert opportunities into profitable sales
About You
First and foremost, are you a true sales hunter with solid cladding industry knowledge?
Do you understand the market, know how to identify opportunities and have a proven ability to convert relationships into revenue?
You will bring:
Proven B2B sales experience within the cladding / building industry
Strong technical and product knowledge of cladding systems and applications
A demonstrated track record of winning new business and growing sales
Established relationships within the building and construction industry
Experience selling complementary building products will be advantageous
Excellent solution-selling, negotiation and relationship-building skills
A proactive, resilient and results-driven approach
Strong territory management and organisational skills
The initiative and accountability to work autonomously and deliver results
