Budget Car and Truck Rental is looking for a qualified and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our Dandenong team on a casual basis. You’ll help keep our rental fleet safe, reliable and on the road. Most of your work will be servicing and maintaining diesel vehicles, from light commercials up to prime movers. You’ll also help out on petrol vehicles when needed.
What you’ll be doing
Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance across our diesel fleet: light commercials, vans, rigid trucks and prime movers
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
Inspections and safety checks
Helping with petrol vehicle servicing and repairs as required
Keeping accurate service records and job cards
Helping maintain a clean,
safe and organised workshop
What we’re looking for
A trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle/Diesel Mechanics. This is essential.
Proven hands‑on diesel experience across light and heavy vehicles
Knowledge of bus safety requirements
Robust diagnostic skills and attention to detail
The ability to work on your own and be part of a team.
A current driver’s licence. A heavy vehicle licence (HR) is highly regarded.
A good attitude toward safety and quality work
Your own tools
A clean, contemporary and well‑equipped workshop
Variety of work across a large, well‑maintained fleet
Casual hours, which we can discuss further with the right applicant
