We're seeking a hands‐on Chef for theGreat Western Hotelin the friendly rural town ofHughenden.This classic outback venue serves as a social hub for locals, travellers, and workers passing through Hughenden.
The venue features a welcoming public bar, a retail bottle shop and six motel rooms providing accommodation for guests.
Working a split shift working alongside a dedicated kitchen hand This FIFO position (1 week on, 1 week off) is ideal for a qualified chef who thrives in a remote setting, enjoys community engagement and can manage day-to-day operations of a busy kitchen.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
Prepare and deliver high quality food in a authentic country charm environment
Maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are met and upheld
Manage time effectively to ensure prompt and consistent service
Work autonomously when required and collaboratively as part of a team
Remain calm, organised and efficient during busy service periods
Contribute to an outstanding dining experience for every guest
What we're looking for
A minimum of three years' experience in a similar role
Proven experience working in a pub kitchens
A quick learner and confident problem solver
Exceptional organisational and time management skills
The ability to stay composed under pressure
A strong work ethic with a positive and can do attitude
Reliability and punctuality
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
