About Us

An established international financial institution is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join its Sydney CBD team.

This is a hands-on accounting position covering financial and management reporting, taxation, budgeting, regulatory reporting and day-to-day accounting activities.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and the organisation's overseas head office. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement and is ideal for an accountant looking to develop broader experience within the banking and financial services sector.

Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting activities, primarily relating to expenses and loans, using Xero
Review and maintain loan data using Excel
Support cash flow management and gather information from internal departments
Prepare statutory and regulatory reports, including APRA reporting
Prepare tax reporting including PAYG, BAS and FBT




Support monthly, quarterly and annual accounting processes
Prepare regular financial reports for the overseas head office
Assist with expense budgeting and variance analysis
Support external audits and preparation of financial statements
Assist with ad hoc accounting and finance-related projects

Your Profile
3+ years' experience in a similar accounting role
Big 4 accounting firm experience will be highly regarded
Experience within banking or financial services would also be highly regarded
A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
Experience using Xero
Valuable analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and sound judgement
Solid written and verbal communication skills in English
Japanese language skills would be advantageous, but are not essential
Ability to work effectively as part of a team-oriented team
