About the role

This is an entry-level prospect for someone with a genuine interest in bookkeeping, a strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn. Full training and ongoing support will be provided by our experienced team. The successful candidate will gradually develop their bookkeeping skills while assisting with day-to-day tasks for a portfolio of clients.

Key responsibilities
Enter financial transactions into accounting software.
Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations.
Process supplier invoices and customer receipts.
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Maintain accurate and organised financial records.
Assist with payroll processing and employee records.
Assist with preparing bookkeeping records for BAS preparation.
Follow up missing invoices, receipts and other client information.
Communicate professionally with clients and team members.
Maintain electronic files and supporting documentation.

About you

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good numerical and organisational skills.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
Valuable written and verbal communication skills.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Reliability, initiative and a professional approach to work.
Previous bookkeeping experience (experience within an accounting or bookkeeping firm is highly regarded)
Currently studying or completed a Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping.
Basic knowledge of bookkeeping principles.
Exposure to Xero, MYOB or other accounting software.
Previous experience in administration, data entry or accounts.
