Role Description This is a full-time Accountant role in a hybrid working arrangement, based in Moonee Ponds, VIC with some work-from-home flexibility. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting tasks, including preparing financial statements, maintaining general ledgers, and reconciling accounts. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing tax returns, supporting compliance with relevant regulations, and assisting with BAS, GST, and other statutory reporting. The role involves analyzing financial data, preparing management reports, and providing insights to support client decision-making. The Accountant will also liaise with clients, respond to queries, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services.





Qualifications
Strong technical accounting skills, including financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
Demonstrated experience with tax compliance and reporting (e.g., income tax, GST, BAS) and an understanding of relevant Australian accounting and taxation regulations.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar), Microsoft Excel, and other productivity tools used in skilled practice.
Effective analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to clients and collaborate with team members.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work both independently and as part of a hybrid team environment.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance; professional accreditation (e.g., CA or CPA, or working towards it) is highly regarded.
Prior experience in public practice or a chartered accounting firm is an advantage, along with a client-focused and ethical approach to work.
