We are recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join an established accounting firm in Sydney.This opportunity suits an accountant with approximately 2–4 years' experience in Australian public practice, ideally gained in a mid-tier or boutique professional services firm.You'll work directly with a portfolio of business clients on their accounting and taxation needs, while continuing to build your technical capability and client advisory experience.Key Responsibilities:Prepare financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships and individualsPrepare income tax returns and other compliance workPrepare and review BAS and other taxation requirementsAssist clients with day-to-day accounting and taxation mattersLiaise directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queriesWork closely with Managers and Partners on client engagementsAssist with tax planning and year-end complianceUse cloud-based accounting platforms such as Xero and MYOBSupport junior accountants where appropriateBuild solid,



ongoing relationships with clientsAbout You:We're looking for someone with:2–4 years' experience in an Australian public practice accounting firmExperience within Business Services, Tax or Business AdvisoryStrong experience preparing financial statements and tax returnsWorking knowledge of Australian taxation requirementsConfidence communicating directly with clientsExperience using Xero, MYOB or similar accounting softwareStrong attention to detail and communication skillsCA/CPA qualification or currently working towards completionThe Ideal Background:You may currently be working as an Intermediate Accountant, Senior Accountant, or Business Services Accountant in a boutique or mid-tier accounting firm and looking for the next step in your career.We're particularly interested in accountants with exposure to a broad range of SME clients who are comfortable taking ownership of compliance work rather than working solely in a processing-focused role.
