Accounts Semi-Senior HarrogateSalary: £32,000£37,500 depending on experienceI'm working with an established and growing accountancy group in Harrogate to recruit an Accounts Semi-Senior into its team.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in accountancy practice, particularly accounts preparation, and is looking for a business where they can continue developing their skills and progressing their career.Ideally, we're looking for someone already operating at Semi-Senior level, with good practical accounts preparation experience.
However, there is flexibility around the level of appointment.
We'd also be interested in speaking with someone slightly more junior who is ready to take the next step, or an experienced Semi-Senior who feels ready to progress towards Senior level.
Salary would reflect the successful candidate's experience and the level of responsibility they can undertake.What is particularly important to this business is finding someone who is driven, enthusiastic and genuinely wants to progress.
They want someone with a strong work ethic, who takes pride in their work, embraces new challenges and is keen to develop within a growing organisation.Experience with IRIS and Xero would be beneficial.
Neither is essential for someone with the right background and attitude.The roleWorking alongside an experienced team of accountants, you'll:Prepare year-end accounts for limited companies,



partnerships and sole tradersAssist with the preparation of company financial statementsPrepare interim management accountsUndertake client bookkeeping and maintain accurate accounting recordsPrepare quarterly VAT returns and support Making Tax Digital requirementsAssist with the management of a portfolio of clientsPrepare draft tax computations for manager review, where appropriateLiaise with clients to obtain information and resolve queriesSupport senior colleagues with accounts preparation and other client requirementsAssist with company secretarial duties where requiredSupport the training and development of apprentices where appropriateUndertake general accountancy duties as requiredThe emphasis of this chance is accounts preparation rather than tax, although there will be some exposure to associated tax work.What we're looking forYou'll ideally have:A minimum of 23 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice, ideally working at Semi-Senior level for the advertised salary range of £35,000£38,000.Practical experience preparing accounts for a variety of clientsAn understanding of VAT returns and associated accounting requirementsGood organisational skills and excellent attention to detailThe ability to manage your workload and meet deadlinesStrong communication skills and a professional approach to clientsA proactive attitude and willingness to take on additional responsibilityA genuine interest in developing your technical skills and progressing your careerExperience with Xero, IRIS, MyWorkpapers, Sage or QuickBooks would be advantageousYou may be studying towards AAT, ACA or ACCA, or have gained relevant experience through working in practice.Above all, we're looking for someone who is ambitious, hardworking and determined to succeed.You'll enjoy being part of a busy team, be adaptable to change and have the motivation to develop within a growing organisation.What's on offer?
