Senior Electrical Designer

An opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Electrical Designer to join an established engineering team delivering brownfield and greenfield projects across the WA mining and resources sector.
This role would suit a senior designer with a robust background in mining, mineral processing or heavy industrial projects who is comfortable working across detailed electrical design and multidisciplinary project delivery.
The initial engagement will be offered on a 6-month view to extend, with an attractive hourly rate available depending on experience.
The role You will be responsible for electrical design and documentation across a range of mining and processing projects, working closely with electrical engineers and other design disciplines.
Responsibilities will include:
Electrical design and drafting using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
Producing and modifying electrical layouts, schematics and single-line diagrams
Preparing termination, wiring and general arrangement drawings
Design of power distribution, lighting, control and instrumentation systems
Working with engineers and other disciplines to resolve design issues
Reviewing designs and drawings for accuracy and compliance with project requirements
Supporting junior designers and drafters where required




Preparing design documentation for engineering and project deliverables
Supporting site-based design activities when required
About you Ideally, you will have:
8+ years' experience in electrical design
Previous experience within mining, mineral processing, resources or heavy industry
Strong MicroStation and/or AutoCAD capability
Experience producing electrical drawings for multidiscipline engineering projects
Good knowledge of electrical layouts, SLDs, schematics, termination and wiring diagrams
Experience across power, lighting, control systems and instrumentation
A working knowledge of Australian electrical standards and engineering practices
Previous exposure to major WA mining projects
The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary design team
Relevant electrical engineering, design or drafting qualifications
Experience across both MicroStation and AutoCAD would be advantageous, as would previous brownfield project experience and exposure to hazardous-area design.
