Stone Group Lawyers is seeking an accomplished and commercially minded Practice Leader - Family Law to lead, develop and grow the Brisbane family law practice.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced family lawyer who combines exceptional technical ability with strong people leadership, commercial acumen and a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding client outcomes.
The successful candidate will have substantial autonomy in managing the Brisbane practice, supported by an established firm with offices across South East Queensland and the Fraser Coast.Key responsibilitiesLead and oversee the Brisbane family law practice, ensuring high standards of legal service, professionalism, efficiency and profitabilitySupervise, mentor and develop solicitors, paralegals and support staff, fostering a high-performance, accountable and collaborative team cultureManage a portfolio of complex and high-value family law matters, including property settlements, parenting disputes, financial agreements and contested litigationDrive practice growth through referral relationships, professional networking, business development initiatives and client acquisition strategiesTake responsibility for the practice's financial performance, including revenue generation, billing, WIP management, debtor control, productivity and profitabilityEnsure exceptional client service,



timely communication, effective matter progression and robust client retentionMaintain appropriate standards of file management, costs disclosure, professional conduct, supervision and regulatory complianceWork closely with the Managing Partner to implement the firm's strategic objectives, improve operational efficiency and identify opportunities for expansionAssist in identifying, recruiting and retaining high-quality legal professionals to support sustainable growthAbout youA minimum of 7 years' post-admission experience, with substantial experience practising in family lawDemonstrated expertise in complex parenting and property matters, negotiations, mediation and family law litigationProven ability to manage matters independently from initial consultation through to resolution or final hearingDemonstrated supervisory, mentoring or team leadership experienceStrong commercial awareness, including an understanding of billing, productivity and law firm financial performanceExcellent written and oral advocacy, negotiation and client relationship skillsExceptional organisational skills, sound judgment and a high degree of professional integrityAbout usStone Lawyers is an established firm with offices across South East Queensland and the Fraser Coast.
