This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can confidently run service, support the wider team and help continue to build a great local venue.Key responsibilitiesSupporting and leading the front-of-house team across daily serviceHelping drive a positive team culture built on accountability, collaboration and great hospitalityDelivering exceptional guest experiences and building relationships with regularsHaving a solid understanding of wine and the confidence to discuss the wine list with guestsSupporting wine service, beverage recommendations and ongoing team wine educationAssisting with staff training, onboarding and developmentHelping manage bookings, reservations and guest enquiriesSupporting opening and closing procedures, cash handling and daily operational requirementsMaintaining service standards and ensuring the venue is always presented at its bestWorking alongside the owners to improve systems, develop the team and grow the businessAbout youA minimum of 4 years' senior hospitality experience, ideally in a supervisory, team leader,



supervisor or assistant management roleA good working knowledge of wine and a genuine interest in learning moreStrong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead by exampleConfidence running a service and supporting a team in a busy environmentA natural ability to connect with guests and deliver warm, personable serviceA proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to take ownershipStrong organisational skills and an eye for the details that make a venue specialA positive attitude, reliability and a genuine team-first mindsetPrevious experience in a restaurant or wine bar is highly regardedAbout us40Res is an independent neighbourhood wine bar in Surry Hills, built around good food, great wine and genuine hospitality.
