We’re working with a premium rapid-cure flooring business that’s leading its corner of the market. It’s growing and on a strong path forward, and now it’s looking for exceptional talent to help drive that next stage of growth. There’s real momentum here, and the rewards for the right person are genuinely on the table.

The role
This is a 2IC role on the application team with a genuine, and likely quick, pathway to Leading Hand. You'll come in, learn the system rapid, work under the existing leading for a period, and then step up to run the team.

To be clear up front: this is not a 9-to-5. It's site-based and includes night work,



weekends and interstate stints. If you want regular hours behind a desk, this isn't the one. But if you want to earn well, step up fast and be genuinely developed, it's a rare opportunity.

Office is based in Bayswater but heavily site-based, with interstate travel of roughly 25 to 40%. You'll report directly to the owner and managing director, who is deliberately investing more hands-on leadership & coaching to this role.

The work spans a wide range, from small, fast overnight jobs through to large construction projects. The right person brings the same energy and standard to a $10k job as a $1M one.

What you'll own

- Learn the flooring system thoroughly and deliver high-quality trade work
- Work under the existing Leading Hand initially, then step up to run a team of three to four
- Lead and coach the team professionally, with modern expectations around behaviour, culture and safety
- Engage professionally with customers, general contractors, other trades and union processes on union sites
- Run jobs across the full range, from quick overnight work to major multi-week construction projects
- Travel interstate and run major jobs on the ground as the Leading Hand when required

Who we're looking for

- A qualified, professional, polished tradesperson with genuine site experience, particularly with flooring, plastering, concreting or similar.
- Has led a small team before (three to four laborers, apprentices or junior tradies), for example a plastering, concreting or similar crew
- A trade background that transfers well: concrete grinding, laying or understanding concrete, flooring, or resin-based systems
- Epoxy installers are considered, with a strong caveat: this is a different system, so you must be genuinely open to unlearning old habits and doing it the new way
- Strong on modern behaviour, culture and safety expectations, and able to coach a team to high-quality work




- Highly resilient and emotionally intelligent, able to lead well across a real generational range on the team
- Nimble and genuinely available for the demands: nights, weekends and interstate stints away
- A growth mindset, you want to step up, develop, and take the business's scope and standards further

This suits either an up-and-comer, unsettled, hungry tradesperson chasing good money and a leadership step-up, or a more experienced but still-nimble tradesperson who's sick of a slow, bureaucratic big-builder environment and wants fast decisions and real ownership.

- Anyone who needs a strict 9-to-5, or can't do nights, weekends or interstate travel
- Epoxy or other installers who can't let go of "my way" and adapt to a different system
- Anyone without genuine trade and site experience, or who hasn't led a small crew
- People who lack the resilience or EQ the role genuinely calls for
- Anyone who brings different energy to a small job versus a big one

Must-haves

- A qualified, polished tradesperson with genuine site experience
- Experience leading a small crew of three to four
- A transferable trade background (concrete, grinding, flooring or resin systems)
- Genuine openness to learning and doing it the new way
- Real resilience, EQ and strong safety and team-leadership instincts
- Available for nights, weekends and interstate travel
