The Firm & The Role
Our clients is a premium Australian commercial law firm renowned for advising on the most complex, high-stakes transactions, disputes, and commercial decisions. Their reputation is built on strategic brilliance, legal innovation, and an unwavering focus on client outcomes.

Their preeminent Tax Practice is a market leader. Due to sustained growth in the Sydney office, they are currently looking to hire into two tax lawyers.

A flavour of the work will see you focusing on complex corporate structuring, M&A; tax advice, advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals on private wealth solutions, managing tax audits, reviews and objections etc.

Key Responsibilities

- Providing high-level, commercially nuanced tax advice or managing complex tax disputes depending on your specialist stream.
- Drafting comprehensive advices, submissions, and documentation for transactions or ATO/revenue authority interactions.
- Actively participating in client strategy sessions and managing day-to-day file carriage with genuine autonomy.
- Translating convoluted tax issues into concise, commercially viable legal solutions for sophisticated clients.
- Mentoring and collaborating with junior lawyers and graduates within the Sydney practice group.

About You

- Experience:



3 to 8 years’ pae specialising in corporate tax advisory, international tax, or tax litigation/controversy.
- Background: Experience gained within a reputable law firm, or major professional services firm. A background heavily focused on tax litigation and dispute resolution is highly regarded.
- Technical Excellence: Strong analytical, drafting, and problem-solving skills, with an exceptional grasp of tax law.
- Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding communication skills, enabling you to build trust with sophisticated clients and collaborate effectively.
