As a key member of our factory team, you as our experienced Forklift Operator / Yard Hand will play a vital role in safely loading and unloading vehicles, preparing orders for collection and delivery, and maintaining an organised yard to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of materials.

Responsibilities:

- Safely operate a forklift to load and unload company vehicles, customer pickups and external transport.
- Accurately pick, handle and position materials to ensure orders are loaded correctly and securely.
- Assist the Despatch team with preparing, staging and organising orders for collection and delivery.
- Check materials and orders against relevant paperwork to help ensure accuracy and minimise loading errors.
- Pack, label, and prepare orders for delivery while ensuring load safety.
- Ensure loads are safely handled, distributed and secured in accordance with company procedures and load restraint requirements.
- Assist drivers, transport operators and customers during loading and unloading activities.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe yard, warehouse and loading area.
- Assist with stock organisation, material movements and general yard duties as required.
- Identify and report damaged materials, stock discrepancies, equipment issues and potential safety hazards.




- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and wear the required PPE at all times and contribute to warehouse organisation and safety practices.
- Work collaboratively with the Despatch, Warehouse and Production teams to support efficient daily operations.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and ongoing improvements to workplace safety and efficiency.
- Maintain professionalism and promote a positive work environment.

What we’re looking for:

- Current forklift licence (essential).
- Experience operating a forklift in a warehouse, yard or despatch environment (preferred).
- Experience loading and unloading trucks, trailers and other transport vehicles (highly regarded).
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety, particularly when handling long, bulky or heavy materials.
- Positive attention to detail and the ability to check orders and load materials accurately.
- A reliable, proactive and practical approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to assist colleagues, drivers and customers.
- Flexibility to assist with general warehouse and yard duties as operational requirements change.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and a focus on safety and quality.
- Willingness to learn and support process improvements.
