We are looking for a passionate, experienced and qualified Centre Cook to join our team and take responsibility for the preparation of fresh, nutritious and delicious meals for the children in our care.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone with culinary qualifications who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their cooking and wants to make a positive difference in an early learning environment.

About the Role

As our Centre Cook, you will be responsible for the daily operation of the centre kitchen, including preparing meals and snacks that meet the nutritional needs of children across different age groups.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing nutritious, fresh and appealing meals for children each day.

- Planning weekly menus that are wide-ranging, balanced and age-appropriate.

- Catering for individual dietary requirements, allergies and cultural food preferences.

- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.

- Managing food stock, ordering and kitchen inventory within the allocated budget.

- Ensuring safe food storage, preparation and handling practices.





- Maintaining accurate kitchen records and food safety documentation.

- Working collaboratively with the Centre Director and educators to ensure meals meet the needs of the children.

- Creating a positive and organised kitchen environment.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

- Holds a Certificate II or higher in Commercial Cookery or relevant culinary qualifications.

- Has previous experience in a commercial kitchen or childcare cooking environment.

- Has a genuine passion for preparing healthy meals for young children.

- Understands food safety requirements and allergy management.

- Can plan menus and manage food costs effectively.

- Is organised, reliable and able to work independently.

- Has valuable communication skills and enjoys being part of a team.

- Takes pride in their work and brings a positive attitude to the workplace.
