Refrigeration & Air conditioning Mechanic 4-Day Week, Planned Maintenance
Commercial HVAC-R Technician | 4-Day Week, Planned Maintenance | South East QLD
THE WORK
At Ryno Refrigeration we protect our clients’ operations before problems occur. A cold room failure at 5am, or a rooftop unit going down in a Queensland summer, is not an inconvenience. For a quick service restaurant it is a shutdown. We prevent that. Every day, on every site, to a standard most of this industry does not reach.
This is planned, monthly preventative maintenance across major QSR sites in South East Queensland. It is not reactive break-fix work. The defining trait of a Ryno technician is that they look beyond the job card. They notice the head pressure running higher than last month, the seal starting to go, the controller trending wrong while still in range, and they document and communicate it before it becomes a 5am failure.
THE BARGAIN
We are not looking for the best technician available. We are looking for the one who wants to become it.
We offer genuine investment: paid training and certifications, in office mentoring from the owner who is on the tools with the team, and a structured development pathway. We ask for genuine commitment in return. Both sides of that bargain carry equal weight, and our process is built to find the people who want it.
WHAT YOU WILL RUN
You will own a monthly portfolio of commercial sites and the full mix of equipment on them:
- Cold rooms and walk-in freezers
- Rooftop AC units and split systems
Every visit is documented in ServiceM8 before you leave site. You hold the direct relationship with the store manager on shift, and you carry a rostered on-call rotation.
WHAT YOU GET
- 4-day work week, four 10-hour days.
- $115,000 - $135,000 plus superannuation at 12% minimum
- Fully maintained company vehicle
- Funded training, certifications and a development pathway that runs whether business is busy or quiet
- Rostered on-call
- Paid annual, personal and sick leave per the National Employment Standards
WHO WE NEED
This role suits an experienced commercial technician, not a generalist. You will need:
- Extensive commercial refrigeration and/or air conditioning experience (we're looking for depth, not a year count — show us the work)
- Current ARC Refrigerant Handling Licence
- Electrical licence, or restricted refrigeration electrical licence
- QBCC occupational licence
- Demonstrated experience on high-use commercial sites
- A clean Queensland driver's licence
- Based in Brisbane or the immediate surrounds
