This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join the Food operations team at Jolleys Boathouse, led by Lino Sauro. Located alongside the River Torrens, in the Adelaide CBD, Jolleys is a restaurant based on great food and produce and genuine hospitality delivered by dedicated people in our teams.
This is a full-time position.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and present dishes to the highest standards
- Supervise and mentor kitchen team, contributing positively to team work, accountability and continuous improvement
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols, hygiene standards and health regulations
- Monitor inventory levels, ordering supplies and managing stock rotation to minimise waste
- Train staff on new recipes, cooking techniques and equipment operation
- Quality-checking dishes before they leave the kitchen to ensure they meet restaurant standards
- Contribute/ lead team meetings prior to each service
- Contribute to the development of cost-effective solutions whilst maintaining food quality standards
What we're looking for
- Minimum 5+ years' experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen position
- Extensive knowledge of contemporary culinary techniques, food preparation methods and classical cuisine
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage kitchen teams effectively
- In-depth understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations and compliance with local health standards
- Proven ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail during busy service periods
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required by restaurant operations
