Mjølner Melbourne is on the hunt for a passionate and talented Sous Chef to join our kitchen crew and help lead the charge.

Inspired by Viking feasts, mythology and bold flavours of Scandinavia, Mjølner is no ordinary dining experience. We create memorable moments for every guest who walks through our doors, with our kitchen being at the heart of it all.

As our Sous Chef, you’ll work alongside our Head Chef to lead the team, drive exceptional service and create food worthy of the Norse Gods.

- Support the Head Chef in leading the day-to-day kitchen operations
- Lead, motivate and develop a talented team of chefs
- Take charge during service and ensure every dish leaves the pass at the highest standard
- Assist with menu execution, preparation and creative ideas
- Manage stock, ordering, food costs and minimise wastage
- Maintain exceptional food safety, cleanliness and WHS standards
- Help build a positive, supportive and high-performing kitchen culture

What you’ll bring to the table

- Previous experience working as a Sous Chef
- A genuine passion for great food and hospitality
- Confidence leading a team in a quick-paced kitchen
- Strong organisation,



communication and problem-solving skills
- A cool head under pressure and the ability to lead from the front
- A desire to learn, grow and bring your own ideas to the table
- Trade qualification or equivalent (Cert III in Commercial Cookery)
- Sound understanding of Australian WHS and food practises, with the ability to maintain a clean, hygienic and safe working environment
- Flexibility to work across evenings, weekends and a rotating roster
