With continued growth, we’re looking for a Workshop Leading Hand (Boilermaker / HD Mechanic) to join our Mackay workshop—offering long-term stability and the lifestyle of being home every night.

The Opportunity

This is not a desk job. You’ll be on the tools, leading from the front, and setting the standard.

- Day shift only – no nights - residential role
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of HD Mechanics, boilermakers and trades assistants
- Oversee maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on crushing & screening plant and heavy equipment
- Drive efficient workshop operations, including breakdown response and planned maintenance
- Support shutdown prep and major rebuilds




- Maintain exceptional safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
- Be the go-to technical expert and leader on the floor

What You Bring

- Australian-recognised HD Mechanic / Diesel Fitter / Boilermaker Trade Qualification
- 3–5+ years post-trade experience in heavy industry, mining, or civil
- Strong diagnostics, fault-finding, and repair skills across heavy plant
- Proven leadership ability—mentor, guide, and lift team performance
- Solid understanding of safety systems and workshop best practices
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings
- Current driver’s licence and full Australian working rights

Highly Regarded

- Experience with crushing and screening equipment
- High Risk licences (Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Rigging)
- Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience
