The Oakroom Kitchen and Bar, a full-service restaurant known for seasonal share plates and quality mains. We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our kitchen team on a full-time, ongoing basis. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in a professional kitchen alongside an experienced team, preparing high-quality meals for hotel guests and local diners.

Task & responsibilities

Prepare, season and cook food to recipes and menu specifications. Prepare ingredients, portion food and present dishes to the venue’s standards.

Check the quality of food and ingredients, and store food at correct temperatures. Operate and clean kitchen equipment,



and keep work areas clean and hygienic. Follow food safety, hygiene and WHS procedures.

Help with stock rotation, receiving deliveries and minimising waste. Work efficiently under the direction of the Chef during busy service periods.

Qualification & experience

A minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (preferred). Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety requirements. Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a rapid-paced team.

Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and public holidays as required.
