As a Permanent Senior Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centered care to individuals living with a disability. You will be directly empowering participants to achieve autonomy at home and in the community, specializing in complex care support.
Key responsibilities
- Provide tailored personal care and facilitate daily living tasks
- Drive community access, social engagement, and goal progression
- Administer medication safely and accurately and mentor support workers in the unit to do the same
- Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworks to manage complex needs
- Mentor and support workers in the SIL or ILO to implement participant support plans
- Have oversight and ensure documentation and reporting is being completed accurately at the unit and ensure compliance requirements are being met
- Responsible for completing and documenting induction shifts for new team members
- Deliver empathetic emotional and wellbeing support
About you
- A naturally compassionate, empathetic, and patient nature with excellent communication skills
- Proven experience in supporting and/or mentoring support workers
- A solid foundational understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to meet reporting deadlines and ensure records are kept up to date and current
- A current Australian driver's license, a reliable insured vehicle, and current First Aid & CPR qualifications
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or an equivalent relevant qualification
- A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check and a Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Basic digital literacy to document accurate, high-quality shift notes and incident reports
- Permanent contract with guaranteed hours
