Senior Sourcing (Procurement) Specialist
Senior Sourcing Specialist | Procurement & Labour Contracts
Indigeco is recruiting a Senior Sourcing Specialist for our client, a leading global mining and resources organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement, sourcing or workforce management professional to support major sustaining capital and construction projects.
The role will focus heavily on labour contracts, workforce planning, supplier management and commercial support for construction projects involving large contractor workforces.
You will work closely with project teams, procurement specialists and labour hire providers to ensure the right workforce is available, contracts are managed effectively and labour costs remain competitive.
This is not a traditional procurement-only role. We are particularly interested in candidates who understand labour hire arrangements, employment law and workforce management within construction, mining, engineering or major project environments.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong commercial mindset, excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to manage competing workforce requirements across multiple projects.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is a global mining and resources organisation delivering major infrastructure, construction and sustaining capital projects.
You will be joining an established procurement and commercial function that supports large-scale project delivery, contractor workforce management and strategic sourcing activities.
This is an opportunity to contribute to complex capital projects while working alongside experienced procurement, project delivery, commercial and operational teams.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage labour hire contracts and supplier relationships supporting sustaining capital and construction projects, including workforce arrangements involving up to 400 operators.
- Coordinate with preferred labour hire providers to manage workforce requirements, contractor mobilisation, supplier performance and ongoing contractual obligations.
- Partner with construction and project teams to understand workforce demand, project schedules, labour requirements and changing operational priorities.
- Monitor labour market conditions, contractor rates and workforce availability to ensure sourcing strategies and pay arrangements remain competitive.
- Support workforce forecasting, demand planning and reporting across multiple projects, identifying potential labour shortages, cost pressures and mobilisation risks.
- Manage contract administration, supplier performance, compliance and governance requirements, ensuring arrangements align with relevant employment legislation and organisational policies.
- Undertake end-to-end procurement and sourcing activities when required, working with internal stakeholders to deliver commercially sound solutions.
YOUR REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, labour hire contract management, workforce management or contractor engagement within a complex organisation.
- Robust knowledge of Australian employment law, labour hire arrangements,
contractor engagement requirements and associated compliance obligations.
- Experience supporting construction, mining, resources, engineering, infrastructure or major capital projects, with an understanding of project delivery timeframes and workforce requirements.
- Strong contract management capability, including supplier engagement, commercial negotiations, contract administration and performance monitoring.
- Experience in workforce planning, labour forecasting, resource management or managing large contractor workforces.
- Strong analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to assess labour market trends, contractor rates, supplier performance and workforce costs.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate across procurement, construction, operations and project delivery teams.
Experience with procurement platforms such as SAP Ariba will be highly regarded, although specific project management software experience is not essential.
Candidates from workforce optimisation, labour contracting or workforce management backgrounds are also encouraged to apply, provided they have strong employment law knowledge and relevant contract management experience.
YOUR PERKS
- Daily payrate of $824.24 + super.
- 12-month contract opportunity with possibility for further extension.
- Brisbane based hybrid working arrangement, typically 2 to 3 days in office.
- Limited site travel, potentially up to once per quarter.
- Opportunity to support major sustaining capital and construction projects.
- Work alongside experienced procurement, commercial and project delivery professionals within a global resource’s organisation.
