MGP is looking for an experienced Senior Civil Designer to take a leading role in our civil design team.

With 25 years in business and a growing project portfolio, we're looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with the confidence to mentor others, build client relationships and take ownership of their work.

Sydney Water C2 or C3 accreditation would be highly regarded.

About MGP

We're an established NSW engineering and building services consultancy specialising in Sydney Water requirements, development and infrastructure projects.

Much of our work involves brownfield development, Section 73 applications, Building Plan Approvals, service protection reports and associated civil design. We also work on larger, technically challenging projects requiring coordination across civil, structural and hydraulic engineering.

The Role

Working alongside our Directors, Senior, and broader teams, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of design activities, contribute to project delivery and help build the capability of our growing civil design group.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering and overseeing civil design documentation for development and infrastructure projects.

- Working across Sydney Water Section 73 requirements, whilst coordinating collaboratively with our specialised Building Plan Approvals and site teams





- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to developing designers.

- Coordinating design activities and maintaining quality and delivery standards.

- Building strong relationships with clients, developers, architects and other consultants.

- Collaborating with our Hydraulic Engineering team on projects requiring an integrated approach.

- Communicating directly with clients, Sydney Water, architects, engineers, developers and other project stakeholders.

- Opportunities to develop into broader civil design projects, including larger and more technically challenging developments.

- Identifying opportunities to improve our design processes and the way we deliver work.

You’ll have genuine autonomy in your day-to-day work, with the opportunity to influence how our civil design team develops.

What We’re Looking For

Ideally, you’ll have:

- Significant civil design experience, particularly in land development or infrastructure.

- Sydney Water C2 or C3 accreditation, preferable.

- Strong technical knowledge of Sydney Water requirements and brownfield development.

- The ability to solve practical design problems and confidently communicate with clients.

- The ability to provide sound technical guidance and help others work through design challenges.

- Strong relationship-building skills and an appreciation of the commercial side of consulting.





- The ability to identify opportunities to develop client relationships and grow existing accounts.

Previous leadership experience is advantageous, but we’re equally interested in someone who leads through technical ability, sound judgement and the respect of their colleagues.

An interest in business development is also highly valued. If you bring established industry contacts, existing client relationships or an ability to identify new opportunities, we’d be particularly interested in hearing from you.
