Kallangur State School is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join our school community!
You will use your social work expertise to provide compassionate mental health and wellbeing support within school communities, helping students feel safe, connected, and supported.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part time capacity (0.70 FTE), 50.75 hours per fortnight until 10 December 2027, unless otherwise determined.

About Us:

Kallangur State School is located in the suburb of Kallangur, approximately 20km north of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Established in 1930, the school has a long history of providing quality education for all students.

Your Role:

As a specialist member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will offer therapeutic and case management support to students with mild-to-moderate mental health concerns.

Responsibilities Include:

- Assess the mental health needs of students to inform appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Deliver individual and group interventions to students which address mental health concerns.
- Work collaboratively with schools' leadership and student support teams to inform student support planning,



and provide advice to teachers supporting students' mental health in the classroom.
- Develop referral and case management processes to support delivery of the service.
- Coordinate referrals to external agencies, and work collaboratively with external networks and stakeholders to ensure access to appropriate supports for students.
- Provide advice and assistance to families to support the mental health of students.
- Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team.
