REAL SUPPORT FOR REAL LIFE.

Concrete Schoolyard is a small, independent NDIS provider specialising in psychosocial disability, mental health, addiction recovery and complex support needs.

We're currently recruiting experienced, reliable male support workers to join a small, consistent team supporting an adult male participant in Kensington.

This is a rewarding but potentially challenging role, and we're looking for workers who are confident, grounded and comfortable supporting people with complex life circumstances.

We value practical experience, emotional maturity and the ability to build genuine relationships just as much as formal qualifications.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You'll be supporting an adult male participant transitioning back into the community following a period in custody.

The participant has complex psychosocial needs, including serious mental health challenges, a history of substance use and difficulties with emotional regulation, impulse control and community engagement.

Your role will focus on helping establish stability, develop routines, maintain accommodation and engage safely and meaningfully in the community.

Responsibilities include:

- Community access, appointments, shopping and everyday activities.

- Building daily routines and supporting independent living.

- Meal preparation, household tasks and maintaining accommodation.

- Providing practical, recovery-oriented psychosocial support.

- Supporting positive community engagement and social participation.

- Using trauma-informed and harm-minimisation approaches.

- Recognising early signs of distress and responding calmly to challenging situations.

- Maintaining clear professional boundaries.

- Completing brief, accurate shift notes.

HOURS & AVAILABILITY

Commencement: Friday, 20 November 2026

We're recruiting multiple workers to establish a small, consistent support team.

- Shifts available Monday through Sunday.

- Combination of 4-hour and 8-hour shifts.

- Regular ongoing work.

- Weekday and weekend opportunities.

- Consistent weekly availability preferred.

We're particularly interested in applicants who can commit to regular shifts and provide reliability and continuity.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for mature, confident and dependable workers who understand that effective psychosocial support isn't about controlling someone or telling them how to live.

It's about building trust, providing practical assistance and supporting people to make their own choices while maintaining appropriate boundaries.

Experience in the following areas is highly regarded:

- Schizophrenia and complex mental health.

- Psychosocial disability.

- Alcohol and other drug support.

- Justice system involvement and community reintegration.

- Trauma-informed care.

- Harm minimisation and recovery-oriented practice.

- De-escalation and managing challenging situations.

Personal lived experience of mental health challenges or addiction recovery is also valued.

Essential requirements:

- Current ABN.

- Appropriate public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

- NDIS Worker Screening Check.

- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.

- Driver's licence and reliable vehicle.

- Relevant experience in complex psychosocial support.

- Ability to work independently and maintain qualified boundaries.

- Reliable communication and willingness to complete shift documentation.

WHY CONCRETE SCHOOLYARD?

We're not a large, generic NDIS provider, and we don't try to be.

We specialise in psychosocial disability and believe that good support starts with matching the right workers to the right people.

We offer:

- Competitive hourly remuneration packages.

- Consistent, ongoing shifts.

- A small and supportive team environment.

- Direct communication with management.

- A practical, down-to-earth approach to psychosocial support.

- The opportunity to build a meaningful working relationship with one participant.

HOW TO APPLY

Please apply through SEEK with your CV and a brief introduction outlining your experience in psychosocial disability, mental health, addiction recovery or complex support.

Please include your availability across weekdays and weekends.

We're particularly interested in applicants who have the experience, patience and confidence to work with complex presentations while maintaining a calm, respectful and non-judgmental approach.
