About the role

Mercure Newcastle Airport is seeking a Night Auditor to join our Front Office team. This is a crucial overnight position based at our hotel in Williamtown, NSW 2318, where you will be responsible for managing all front office operations during the night shift. As Night Auditor, you will be the primary point of contact for our guests during late evening and early morning hours, ensuring seamless service delivery and maintaining the highest standards of guest satisfaction. This role is essential to our operations, providing continuity and support across the hotel's 24-hour service model. The position is working 4 nights on and then having 4 nights off.

Key responsibilities

- Manage all front desk operations during night shifts, including check-ins, check-outs and guest inquiries

- Process financial transactions accurately, including cash handling, credit card reconciliation and end-of-day audits

- Maintain comprehensive night audit reports and ensure all accounting records are properly documented and balanced

- Monitor security systems and conduct regular property inspections to ensure guest safety and building security

- Respond promptly to guest requests and resolve any issues or complaints with professionalism and discretion

- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to address any overnight maintenance or cleanliness concerns

- Manage reservations, cancellations and room assignments using hotel management systems

- Prepare detailed handover notes for the day shift team regarding any overnight incidents or special guest requests





- Uphold hotel policies and procedures whilst maintaining a welcoming and professional demeanour

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in a front office or night audit role within a hotel or hospitality establishment

- Strong numerical skills with the ability to manage financial reconciliation and accounting procedures accurately

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

- Proficiency with hotel management systems and general computer applications

- Ability to work independently during night shifts whilst maintaining high standards of service

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail when managing multiple tasks simultaneously

- Flexibility to work night shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required

- A commitment to guest satisfaction and delivering exceptional customer service

- Relevant hospitality qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential if you have equivalent experience
