This is a dual-responsibility role combining workshop leadership with active, high-level fabrication work. When the manager is on-site, you will work closely together as a team to run the shop. You will keep the floor running smoothly, maintain absolute quality control, and greet our clients as their main point of contact.

Additionally, you will step up to fill in and run the broader business operations independently only when the manager is on leave.

Key Responsibilities:

- On the Tools: Carry out high-quality sheet metal fabrication, welding, cutting, and forming tasks alongside the team.

- Workshop Leadership: Work collaboratively with the manager to organise daily schedules, coordinate job flows, and ensure workshop safety standards are strictly met.

- Customer Service: Act as the primary face-to-face contact for walk-ins, client drop-ins, and workshop enquiries.

- Operational Coverage:



Confidently manage the workshop and handle general manager duties independently when the manager is on leave.

Requirements:

- Experience: Proven, extensive hands-on experience in a sheet metal fabrication or jobbing shop setting is essential.

- Leadership Skills: Prior experience running a workshop floor or overseeing production workflows.

- Customer Communication: Strong, professional face-to-face communication skills with a welcoming and customer-focused attitude.

- Technical Literacy: Ability to read technical drawings, interpret specs, and problem-solve custom client requests.

- Reliability: High level of organizational skills, autonomy, and trustworthiness to take the reins during leave periods.
