GFF AI is looking for passionate, talented, and technically curious students to join our Mining Technologies & Artificial Intelligence Internship Program.

We are building next-generation AI-powered solutions for the global mining industry, combining deep mining domain expertise with Artificial Intelligence, Industrial IoT, SCADA, sensors, intelligent automation, predictive analytics, computer vision, digital twins, and agentic AI.

We are seeking 5 interns across two specialized tracks who want to solve real-world mining challenges through advanced technology.

Track 1: Functional Mining & AI Interns - 3 Positions

Preferred Background: Mining Engineering, Mineral Engineering, Mineral Processing, Applied Geology, Geology, or closely related disciplines.

We are seeking candidates with robust knowledge of mining fundamentals and an interest in applying AI to mining operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Understand and analyze open-pit and underground mining operations.
- Work on mine planning, drilling, blasting, excavation, loading, hauling, and production optimization.
- Analyze mining equipment performance, productivity, and operational KPIs.
- Identify opportunities for AI-driven mine safety, risk management, and environmental monitoring.
- Support AI use cases in mineral processing, beneficiation, and plant performance optimization.
- Translate operational mining challenges into AI and analytics requirements.
- Collaborate with AI engineers to design intelligent mining solutions.

Required Skills:

- Strong understanding of mining operations, processes, equipment, and safety fundamentals.
- Knowledge of mine planning, mineral processing, or mining production systems.
- Basic understanding of operational data analysis and mining KPIs.
- Proficiency in Excel; exposure to Power BI, Python, GIS, SURPAC, Datamine, or similar tools is an advantage.
- Awareness of AI, Machine Learning, or Data Analytics applications in mining.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Track 2: Technical Mining, Industrial Automation & AI Interns - 2 Positions

Preferred Background: Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics,



Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related disciplines.

We are seeking technically strong candidates who can connect industrial mining systems and operational data with modern AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop AI/ML solutions for mining equipment monitoring, predictive maintenance, and operations optimization.
- Work with SCADA, PLCs, industrial automation platforms, and operational data historians.
- Integrate industrial IoT devices, sensors, edge computing, and real-time telemetry.
- Develop AI agents and agentic AI workflows for mining operations, engineering knowledge, and decision support.
- Build computer vision applications for mine safety, equipment monitoring, and operational intelligence.
- Develop data pipelines, real-time dashboards, anomaly detection models, and predictive analytics.
- Explore digital twins, simulation, optimization, and intelligent mining control support systems.
- Collaborate with mining domain experts to develop scalable, practical industrial AI solutions.

Required / Preferred Technical Skills:

- Programming: Python, SQL, and preferably C/C++ or JavaScript.
- AI/ML: Machine Learning, Deep Learning, time-series forecasting, and anomaly detection.
- Generative AI: LLMs, RAG, AI agents, agentic workflows, and API integration.
- Industrial Systems: SCADA, PLC, OPC UA, Modbus, industrial automation fundamentals.
- IoT & Sensors: MQTT, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, vibration, temperature, pressure, proximity, and environmental sensors.
- Computer Vision: OpenCV, object detection, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar frameworks.
- Data Engineering: APIs, databases, data pipelines, and visualization tools.
- Additional Advantage: Edge AI, digital twins, cloud platforms, predictive maintenance, cybersecurity fundamentals, or mining technology exposure.





Candidates are not expected to be experts in every technology listed. Strong hands-on capability in one or more relevant technical areas is essential.

- M.Tech / M.E. / M.Sc. students in relevant disciplines.
- Candidates with academic projects, research, internships, or demonstrable practical experience in mining, AI, IoT, automation, or industrial analytics.
- Students with an innovative mindset, strong fundamentals, and a willingness to work across mining and AI disciplines.
