About the role

Optimum Health General Practice is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Practice Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Bella Vista, NSW 2153, this is a pivotal position within our organisation, responsible for the overall management and smooth operation of our general practice. As Medical Practice Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring our practice runs efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient care and staff satisfaction. This role is essential to our strategic objectives, bridging clinical and administrative functions to support our vision of delivering exceptional healthcare services to our community.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee the day-to-day operational management of the general practice, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation

- Manage practice finances, including budgeting, invoicing, accounts payable and receivable, and financial reporting

- Recruit, train, supervise and support administrative and clinical staff to ensure high performance and professional development

- Maintain compliance with relevant healthcare legislation, regulations, and accreditation standards

- Implement and maintain practice policies and procedures to optimise efficiency and quality of care

- Manage patient records systems, appointment scheduling, and ensure effective communication between clinical and administrative teams

- Liaise with external stakeholders including health insurance providers, regulatory bodies, and local healthcare networks

- Monitor practice performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives

- Manage facility maintenance, equipment procurement, and vendor relationships

- Support clinical staff in achieving practice objectives whilst ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients

What we're looking for





- Proven experience as a Practice Manager or in a similar healthcare management role, preferably within general practice or primary care settings

- Strong knowledge of medical practice operations, including appointment systems, patient management, and clinical workflows

- Excellent financial management skills with demonstrated experience in practice budgeting and financial administration

- Sound understanding of healthcare compliance requirements, including privacy legislation, health and safety regulations, and practice accreditation standards

- Proficiency in practice management software and Microsoft Office applications

- Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage competing priorities

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging with staff, patients, and external partners

- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to implement practical solutions to operational challenges

- A commitment to patient-centred care and supporting the delivery of quality healthcare services

- Relevant qualifications in business management, healthcare administration, or a related field would be advantageous
