The Opportunity

A privately owned Australian property group is seeking an experienced Retail Design Manager to lead the design and approval of retail tenancies across its diverse and growing portfolio.

Reporting to the Head of Property, you will manage the full tenancy design lifecycle, working closely with retailers, designers, shopfitters, consultants and internal property teams to deliver high-quality, compliant and commercially effective outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded design professional who enjoys combining creative design, technical delivery and stakeholder management within a retail property environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead tenancy design reviews and approvals from concept through to store opening
- Review retailer submissions, architectural drawings, shopfronts, signage, lighting, materials and fit-out documentation
- Provide practical design guidance to retailers, designers and consultants
- Manage design milestones, approvals and competing tenancy programmes
- Identify and resolve design, compliance and base-building interface issues
- Partner with Leasing,



Asset Management, Property Management, Development and Facilities teams
- Conduct site, compliance, defects and pre-opening inspections
- Support the ongoing improvement of tenancy design standards and processes

About You

You will ideally bring:

- Experience in retail design management, tenancy design, tenancy coordination or retail project delivery
- Exposure to shopping centres, mixed-use assets, major retailers or similar property environments
- A qualification in architecture, interior architecture, interior design, construction management or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of retail fit-outs, building services, accessibility and construction delivery
- Confidence reviewing architectural and interior design documentation
- Solid communication and stakeholder management skills
- A practical, commercially minded and solutions-focused approach
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam or similar platforms will be advantageous
