An established and growing building certification consultancy is seeking an experienced Residential Building Certifier to join its team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to work across a diverse range of residential projects while enjoying autonomy, professional support, and long-term career growth. We are particularly interested in accredited certifiers; however, experienced candidates working towards accreditation are encouraged to apply.

The Role

You will be responsible for assessing, certifying, and inspecting residential building projects, predominantly Class 1a and Class 10 buildings, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, building codes, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess residential building applications and supporting documentation.
• Review plans and specifications for compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC), relevant Australian Standards, and state legislation.
• Undertake mandatory inspections throughout construction phases.
• Issue approvals, certifications, and compliance documentation.
• Provide practical advice and guidance to builders, designers, and property owners.
• Liaise with councils, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders throughout project delivery.
• Maintain accurate project records and ensure regulatory obligations are met.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of certification processes.

About You

• Accredited Building Certifier (preferred).




• Demonstrated experience assessing and certifying Class 1a and Class 10 buildings.
• Strong understanding of the National Construction Code, Australian Standards, and relevant building legislation.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and engineering documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in preparing technical reports and certification documentation.
• Current driver's licence.

Desirable

• Accreditation as a Building Certifier in QLD
• Experience working within a private certification environment.
• Additional experience with Class 2 or commercial buildings would be advantageous but is not essential.
