About the role

We are seeking an experienced and reliable qualified Plumber with a strong track record in plumbing and drainage installation on civil construction projects. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can confidently interpret plans, set out plumbing and drainage works, and deliver accurate installations with minimal day-to-day direction. Working closely with operators, labourers and supervisors, you will bring practical trade experience and a strong focus on safety and quality to the delivery of plumbing and drainage infrastructure across a variety of civil construction projects. This role is expected to take on leading hand duties as needed, as part of our commitment to growing leadership capabilities within our team.

About Your Day:

- Carry out plumbing and drainage installations, including water supply, sanitary drainage and stormwater pipework, within your licence scope and in accordance with project drawings, specifications and required standards.

- Set out plumbing and drainage works and accurately check grades, levels and alignments using lasers or levelling equipment.





- Work with the crew to complete trench preparation, bedding, pipe jointing and backfilling to project requirements, providing practical guidance to less experienced crew members.

- Interpret plumbing drawings and site plans, check installation requirements, complete relevant testing and quality checks, and raise discrepancies with the supervisor before proceeding.

- Communicate clearly with operators, labourers and supervisors to keep plumbing and drainage activities coordinated, protected and productive, taking on leading hand duties as required, including coordinating daily crew tasks and work sequencing under the supervisor’s direction.

- Follow all WHS requirements and company safety procedures, lead by example and promptly raise hazards or safety concerns with the supervisor.

- Carry out daily housekeeping and equipment/tool maintenance as required.

About you

We are looking for an experienced plumber who brings:

- A recognised plumbing trade qualification and current Queensland or NSW plumbing and drainage licences appropriate to the work being undertaken.

- Substantial hands-on experience in plumbing and drainage installations on civil construction projects,



including water supply, sanitary drainage and stormwater systems.

- Strong practical knowledge of plumbing and drainage installation techniques, pipe materials, jointing, testing, bedding and backfilling, and applicable plumbing standards.

- Demonstrated ability to independently read and interpret plumbing drawings and site plans, set out installations, and accurately check grades, levels and alignments using levelling equipment.

- The ability to work with minimal day-to-day direction, take ownership of installation quality and help lead a reliable, safety-focused crew, with the confidence to provide clear direction and support others. Previous leading hand or crew coordination experience would be highly regarded.

- Tickets such as Confined Space, Excavator, Skid Steer or Roller highly regarded.

- Construction White Card.

- HR Licence or Truck experience is desirable but not essential.

- Open to travel to regional Queensland.
