A&D; Refrigeration & Air Conditioning is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Apprentice Refrigeration & Air Conditioning to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to launch your career in the skilled trades whilst working with a reputable company in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry. Based in Taren Point, NSW, you will gain hands-on experience and comprehensive training in all aspects of refrigeration and air conditioning systems, working alongside experienced technicians who are committed to your career development. This apprenticeship will provide you with the foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to become a qualified refrigeration and air conditioning technician.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting experienced technicians in the installation, maintenance and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems
- Learning to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and blueprints relevant to refrigeration and air conditioning work
- Performing routine maintenance tasks on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment under supervision
- Safely handling refrigerants and other hazardous materials in accordance with environmental and safety regulations
- Assisting with the diagnosis and troubleshooting of system faults and malfunctions
- Developing competency in the use of specialised tools, equipment and diagnostic instruments
- Contributing to a safe and organised work environment by following all health and safety procedures
- Attending structured training and formal educational components as required by your apprenticeship programme
- Supporting the team with general site and workshop duties as needed
What we're looking for
- Currently enrolled in or about to commence a formal Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Apprenticeship through an accredited training provider
- A genuine interest in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry and commitment to completing your full apprenticeship term
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand technical concepts
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Good manual dexterity and the ability to work with precision tools and equipment
- A strong focus on health and safety practices, including a willingness to work at heights and in confined spaces where required
- Reliable, punctual and professional attitude with excellent communication skills
- The ability to work as part of a team whilst also taking direction from supervisors
- A current driver's licence is highly desirable
- Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role, including lifting and manual handling
