Sibanye Stillwater Australia is currently seeking a Cost Controller to join our Century Mine operations at Lawn Hill.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established site during an important period of change. Century Mine is approaching the final stages of hydro mining, with mine life currently through 2027, while also preparing for rehabilitation activities and the potential future development of phosphate operations.

The role is offered on a Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) basis from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns on an 8/6 or 15/13 roster, based at Century Mine.

About the role
Reporting to the Commercial Superintendent, the Cost Controller will work closely with Cost Centre Owners and Project Managers to support accurate cost allocation, budgeting, forecasting and reporting across operations and active closure activities. You will help the team understand cost performance, investigate variances and identify practical opportunities to improve cost management and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

· Support month-end activities, including accruals, cost allocations and transfers, to ensure costs are recorded against the correct cost centres and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

· Prepare timely operational and active closure cost reporting, including variance analysis and insights to support decision-making.

· Assist with operating and project budgets, cost forecasts and cashflow analysis.

· Support departmental and project cost reviews, monitor performance against baseline targets and identify follow-up actions.

· Assist with tracking commitments, Value of Work Done (VOWD),



resource forecasts, Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC).

· Review contractor claims, purchase orders, payment certificates and invoices against approved budgets, contracts and project performance.

· Maintain cost management processes and project WBS information, and review cost systems and Pronto data for accuracy.

· Identify cost improvement opportunities and support the Commercial Superintendent with day-to-day Commercial Department activities.

About you
You will bring strong attention to detail, a practical approach to problem-solving and the ability to turn cost data into explicit, useful information. You will be comfortable working with operational teams, Project Managers and Finance, managing changing priorities and building effective working relationships. A commitment to safety and accurate reporting is important.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

· A minimum of two years’ experience in cost control, project controls or a similar role within construction, engineering, resources, renewable energy or an operational environment.

· Experience supporting cost control for mid- to large-scale operations or capital projects.





· An understanding of accounting and project controls principles, including budgeting, cost tracking, cashflow forecasting and analysis.

· Knowledge of contracting, procurement and project services, and how these support operational and project cost control.

· Working knowledge of cost management systems, Pronto data requirements, cost centres and WBS reporting.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.

· Clear communication and reporting skills, with the ability to explain cost information and recommendations to different stakeholders.

Essential requirements:

· A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline.
