Commercial Accountant | Junior Finance Business Partner | Management Accountant | Brisbane | Circa. $130K -$140K + Super | Career growth role

Charterhouse is partnering with a growing organisation to find a commercially minded accountant who wants to become a Finance Business Partner.

The opportunity

Step beyond traditional accounting and become a trusted advisor to operational and project leaders. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll analyse business performance, support project outcomes and provide the insights that shape strategic decisions. You’ll work closely with operational leaders, project managers and senior management, with a clear pathway to a Finance Business Partner role.

What you’ll do

- Lead budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting
- Monitor business unit and project financial performance
- Provide commercial analysis and actionable recommendations
- Support project managers with profitability, forecasting and cost control
- Deliver management reporting, KPI dashboards and variance analysis




- Identify risks, opportunities and margin improvement initiatives
- Support month-end reporting, governance and financial controls

What you’ll bring

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- CA or CPA qualified, or actively working towards it
- 3–5 years’ experience in accounting, management accounting or commercial finance
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and reporting skills
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- A proactive, commercially focused mindset
- Highly regarded: project-based industry experience (construction, engineering, infrastructure or services), project accounting, Power BI and ERP systems
