BJS Group is a long established contracting company operating in the Fire Protection and Joint Sealing space. We work with experienced building, construction, and engineering professionals to deliver specialist services.

Our projects are across a range of settings including new construction (Tier 1), hotels, offices, industrial, education, retail, aged care, childcare and residential. We cover all areas of Southeast Queensland - from Gold Coast, Brisbane, through to the Sunshine Coast.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Install Passive Fire Protection systems as per Manufactures installation guides, test reports and AS1530.4 & AS4072.1

Document all works completed in Clarinspect at the point of installation.

Record information of penetrations on provided stickers, attach stickers next to penetrations as per AS4072.1.

Complete job sheets daily and supply weekly timesheets on time.

Drive to and from work sites with own vehicle appropriate to carry materials required to complete installations and other tasks as directed, within the scope of capabilities.

Qualifications:

Workplace Health and Safety Qld Construction Induction (White Card).

Current Drivers License.

Passive Fire occupational license (Desirable but not essential)

Certificate II in Fire Protection Inspection & Testing or Similar (Desirable but not essential)

Fit Test Cert, EWP/Forklift licenses, beneficial but not required.





Fully vaccinated in-line with Government directives or be willing to get vaccinated for certain site requirements (Hospital & Aged Care Facilities).

Experience:

2 years previous experience in a similar role / construction industry.

Skills:

Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Positive attitude and flexible.

Understanding of Commercial Construction - Passive Fire

Ability and experience with the determination of compliant Installing Passive Fire elements, such as fire rated boards, intumastic sealant, fire collars, intumescent paint, etc. whilst understanding and formulating compliant fire rated systems.

Excellent time and resource management.

Professional presentation.

Ability to travel between jobs.

Ability to read and interpret plans.

Valuable with learning technology and adaptable to BJS system requirements.

Ability to work on your own and with others when required.

Performance Goals:

Complete work within the given timeframes. Where scope of work has deviated for original plan, transparent and prompt communication with your Supervisor.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.

Communicate with clients, suppliers and other employee’s professional at all times.
