Director of Nursing

Location: Rural Victoria

Hours: Permanent Full-Time | Fixed Monday–Friday

Salary: Up to $155k + Super + $15,900 Salary Packaging

Step into an executive nursing leadership role overseeing acute and aged care services across two rural healthcare campuses.

Working closely with a supportive Executive Leadership Team, you’ll lead and develop Nurse Unit Managers, strengthen clinical standards and help shape services that make a meaningful difference to the local community.

This opportunity would also suit a highly experienced NUM, Facility Manager or Campus Manager with the clinical breadth and leadership capability to take the next step.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide visible clinical and operational leadership across acute and aged care services.
- Lead, support and develop NUMs, ensuring transparent role expectations, accountability and consistent performance.
- Ensure safe, high-quality, person-centred care, supported by accurate clinical documentation and effective care planning.
- Champion clinical governance, quality improvement and accreditation readiness across both service areas.
- Monitor clinical performance, manage risk and oversee incident response.
- Drive workforce engagement, staff development and a collaborative team culture.
- Build strong relationships with staff, consumers, families and key stakeholders.

About You

You’re an approachable, inclusive leader who connects with teams, communicates clearly and balances support with accountability.



You bring the clinical understanding to lead across both acute and aged care environments, alongside the operational skills to manage services across two campuses.

Requirements

- Strong clinical and leadership experience across acute and aged care.
- Demonstrated senior leadership and operational management experience as a DON, experienced NUM, Facility Manager or Campus Manager.
- Sound knowledge of clinical governance, quality improvement, accreditation standards and clinical documentation.
- Strong communication, staff development and relationship-building skills.

Desirable

- A relevant postgraduate qualification.
- Rural or regional healthcare experience is highly regarded.
